Aprilia Futura – How to Reset the Service Indicator
When your Aprilia Futura is due for routine maintenance, a “SERVICE” reminder will appear on the dashboard. If your motorcycle was serviced by a dealer, they likely reset it for you—but if you’re handling the maintenance yourself, clearing the alert is quick and easy.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Remove the seat to gain access to the wiring beneath.
- Locate two connectors on the right side of the bike (as viewed from the handlebars), close to the battery.
One connector (female) will have two grey wires, and the other (male) has a blue/green wire. - Connect the two plugs together to enable diagnostic mode. Make a note of their original position to reconnect them later.
- Turn on the ignition (but do not start the engine).
- On the right-hand side of the instrument panel, you should now see “EFI” displayed above the MODE button.
- Press and hold the MODE button.
- While holding the MODE button, press and hold the SET button as well.
- Keep both buttons held until the “SERVICE” message disappears. This may take 10 seconds or more.
- Switch off the ignition.
- Disconnect the two diagnostic connectors and return them to their original configuration.
- Turn the ignition back on and confirm the service indicator has been cleared and everything displays normally.
- Reinstall the seat.
You’ve now successfully reset the service alert on your Aprilia Futura.
